When to Visit Guatemala

I travelled around Guatemala during in November – see the travel guide in the post below!
Guatemala’s dry season runs from November to April, making it the best time for hiking, sightseeing, and traveling between regions with clear skies. This is also ideal for volcano treks like Acatenango or Fuego, boat rides on Lake Atitlán, and jungle hikes in Petén.
The wet season lasts from May to October. While it brings regular afternoon showers—especially in the highlands—it also means lush, green landscapes and fewer tourists. If you don’t mind the rain, you’ll find more affordable accommodations and quieter trails.
For serious adventure travel, especially multi-day treks or volcano summits, the dry season is the most reliable window.
